Kerberos Physical Security Project

Project goals: Design a home locking system using kerberos for authentication

Application: Suppose you want to give a visitor to your house a key for the weekend. This involves the physical transfer of a key for the duration of the visit. This project leverages the pervasiveness of mobile technology to provide a secure authentication method for physical access. You can give your visitor a one-time pin code to be sent via SMS and authenticated against a kerberos prinicpal or using a kerberized weblogin system (like cosign or pubcookie) to a mobile-web enabled cellular telephone

PPN General Purpose Microcontroller Control Module

Project goals: Using off the shelf and inexpensive components, build a multi-purpose microcontroller board for a variety of uses

Application: Home automation

Results: (Pictures posted soon) EPIC Generic Control Module, based on the ATMEGA88 microprocessor, contains digital sense pins, analog and digigal output and input pins for motor and relay actuation, serial communication

Ambient Output Module

Project Goals: Design ambient display device

Application: Ambient display devices leverage non-obstructive psychology, passibly conveying information about some type of data - popular methods are color, size, and shape. This method will use color via tricolor LEDs.
