welcome
Isn't it great when you go live with new content - or even old content with a fresh look? We think so. We think a lot of things are pretty great - like ubiquitous computing (which we'll get to in a bit), home automation, embedded systems, web-presence (and web design), ambient information, and a few other really cool genres of technology we dabble in.
umm ok?
Some of the topics above you may have heard of. Some you may not have. Ubiquitous computing is the paradigm that represents a departure from the standard way we all interact with computers. Right now, you're sitting (maybe standing or laying down) in front of a desktop computer, laptop, or mobile internet-enabled device. In the standard "desktop" model of computing, you, the user, sits down at a keyboard, types away, and something happens. In the ubiquitous computing model, information is accessed and retrieved from various sources (e.g. the internet), or computation is done, without a user ever having to think about what device they're using, or where it is, and importantly, the devices are everywhere (ubiquitous). Instead of a one-to-one relationship with a user and computer, computers become embedded in everything we do - seamlessly interacting with users in a non-disruptive and intuitive way. Here at polymorphicpenguin.net research and design studio, our mission is playing on intuition - designing, dare we say, "clean, green, functional" products that appeal to the aesthetic without sacrificing functionality or performance.
